A wonderful 6 years....

It's been 6 years since we walked down the aisle

proclaiming our vows in front of the Almighty God, friends and family;

saying "I Do" is the shortest yet most meaningful sentence I've ever uttered

for it has brought so much memories and changes into my life

year after year, we renew our vows;

to stay together in health and in sickness;

for richer or poorer;

happiness or sorrows;

we shall never be apart;

for we know only death could tear us apart;...

our love shall remain as strong as before...

I thank God everyday;

for HE has brought us together;

and blessed us with 2 beautiful sons.

I can't ask for more

except that He continues his blessings upon us

for we shall grow old together

and look forward to many more happy anniversaries to come....

Two beautiful and meaninful gifts to commemorate our long-lasting marriage.
Thank you, my dear......
Love you always.....

In Laws....

I dont know if it's a sign/message or what..just yesterday it was reported in The Star that problems with in-laws is the #1 cause of most divorce cases in the country. I didnt think much about it cos afterall, it was reported that this applies to most Malay families where the in-laws like to interfere with the lives of the married couples, especially those who live together. I'm thankful, really really, extremely thankful in a way that I do not live with my in-laws.......otherwise I wouldnt dare imagine if I'll be part of the statistic reported......*touch wood*

To me, in-laws will always remain as in-laws/ or a meaner way to call them - outsiders...they are called 'in-laws' for apparrent reason - family recognised by the law. However, I have to admit that I do not have any major problems with my in-laws, neither do they come from hell...thank goodness for those...but then again.....I shall not say further.....Life is good so far.....

Anyway, as I was reading the May 2009 issue of Reader's Digest this afternoon, I came across this ......

13 THINGS YOUR MOTHER-IN-LAW WON'T TELL YOU
...my response to each statement in red. Bear in mind, it's not directed to any person in particular, just my response in general....
1. I spent a couple of decades being the leading lady; now I have a character role. It hurts to be downsized
you are being sensitive. who in the world downsize you?
2. I know he's your husband now, but he's still my son
I very well know that too. That's why you are my mother-in-law. No husband, no mother-in-law
3. You don't seem very confident about yourself. The littlest comment from me is taken as a criticisim, so I'm very careful what I say around you.
Please continue being careful of what you say then.....volcanos won't erupt if you continue being careful.....
4. Every year, I send you a birthday present, but you never even pick up the phone to thank me.
That's because you probably didnt thank me too....
5. We mothers say to our children, "I want you to be happy." And we mean that. What we don't say is "But I would like to be happy too."
Aren't you happy that your son found his life-partner? And please be direct. Tell your children you want to be happy, just like them too.
6. I've bought and sold 13 houses in my life. Why won't you ask for my advice?
Well, your experience 50 years ago might be different from today's. Thanks anyway. Shall go to you for advice if required.
7. When I visit you, I'm not coming for a white-glove inspection. I just want to see the family.
Argh...admit it. You are in for a spot-check! You just do it discreetly.
8. When I really want to talk to my son privately, I don't call your house. I call his mobile phone.
Good! Keep it that way.
9. I'm so happy that you allow my son - your husband - to visit me on Mother's Day. I'm truly appreciative.
That's because I have a mother too. And I'm a mother myself. I know how that feels....
10. My dirty little secret: I'm afraid that if I don't get this right, you'll cut me off.
So make sure you ALWAYS get it right!
11. I'm in competition with your mother. She takes you on vacations every year and buys things I can't afford.
That's because SHE's MY mother.
12. Whenever I stay at your house, you always have my room ready, my towels, everything. You do all the right things. I'm lucky to have you!
Then why can't you just open your mouth and tell? We will be happier and feel appreciated.
13. I cherish the refrigerator magnet you gave me. "Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill."
Good that you know how to...

30 years of happiness~

May 19, 1979 - the very day mom n dad tied the knot

May 19, 2009 - after exactly 30 years, they are still as loving and caring for each other as they have vowed to each other in front of the pastor, congregation and of course God.

I've learnt a lot from mom and dad on:-

how to handle a marriage...

how to persevere through the hard times...

how to withold grudges towards each other...

how to be patient with each other...

how to openly accept and adapt to each other's flaws...

how to handle crisis in my marriage...

how to respect each other...

...and many more...

mom told me something extremely touching last night which I vow shall remain memorable for me for the rest of my life - she never once regret marrying my dad ~

Tho her answer may sound simple and straight to the point, the factors which lie in her answer to my dad's question shall remain in my mind for as long as I live. My heart was pumping real fast and I felt deeply touched upon hearing that and revowed there and then that I will never dismiss mom, but to continue considering her as my role model in preserving my very own marriage. Who better to take on the role if not my very own MOTHER?

Looking forward too seeing mom n dad celebrate more happy wedding anniversaries in the future!

Mother's Day......and more updates!

As the world celebrated Mother's Day yesterday, I too had my share of it :)
In fact I got my Mother's Day gift a night earlier when Zach came out of the kitchen suddenly with this..........

"Mummy, Happy Mother's Day to you! Teacher Aaron told me to give this to you."

I was speechless and could not hold my laughter because just seconds before he gave this to me, he actually had a fight with Roy and the bigger one wins of course, with a strong push on Roy and making that little fellow knocked his head on the floor. So obviously, it was followed by a big hoo hah and without any of us noticing, big fellow actually went to the kitchen and came out with the gift for me. I was actually about to give him an earful on how he shouldnt push his brother and all...but as I got this gift from him, my heart just melted. Instead of an earful, I just merely told him that it wasnt right for him to do that to his brother and he went straight to Roy and gave him a peck as an apology. Sweet~

And if you think that he was being sneaky presenting me with the gift as a cover-up right after he did something wrong, it wasnt so. It was a coincident when my maid asked him what was inside his food container that he remembered it was a gift for me. Obviously he forgot all about it until my maid asked him. Hence, the not-so-right timing in passing me the gift :)
Thank goodness my son is not as sneaky as I thought he was initially.....

Next morning.... hubby suggested that we spend the day at KLCC on Mother's Day. It started off with brunch there and followed by a trip to Aquaria KLCC - something fun for the kids. Seeing the excitement and happiness of my kids just made Mother's Day more meaningful altogether.

One of the underworld scenery shots I took...

A lil updates .......

I was watching TV one evening when Zach came rushing into the house...

"Mommy, mommy. Come out. Come out and see!"
"See what, Zach?"

Pulling my hands and running towards the door... "You come. I show you."

Pointing into the sky... "Look, mommy!"

I hope it's clear from the picture here that my son was just overwhelmed and excited over this rainbow! Nature's wonder in bringing cheers to a child :)

Hubby: How often can you see a squirrel running around your garden?
Needless to say, my four-year-old was super excited.......

He's 1!

It was 23rd April 2009
You were kicking and moving roughly in mommy's tummy
Giving signs that you were impatient
To greet us hello
We were not expecting you til 9th May
But you choose to show who's the boss
Calling the shots for your arrival
It was almost midnight that day
That you finally came
To say hello to the world
And of course mommy, daddy and koh koh
Weighing only a mere 3.2kg
With a moderate length of 49cm
You were so tiny and fragile
We just couldnt resist holding you
Caressing you in our arms
Making you comfortable and warm
You showed us who you really are
With your fiery and strong characters
The times when you want things done YOUR way
We just had no choice but to give in
You gave us a total of 5 months of challenge
Keeping us all awake every night
With all your demands which we made us clueless
Daddy had a battle with you
And needless to say, you emerged the champion
We had no choice but to summit to you
Simply because we love you so
A year has past since you first greeted us
Words cannot describe how much we love you
We thank God everyday
For we are blessed that you were born
Into our family
Bringing much joy and laughters
Happiness and merriments
Not a day passes by
Without your smiles that brighten up each day
Making our lives complete
By being just the way your are

HAPPY WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY #1, DARLING ROY
MAY YOU BE BLESSED WITH LOTSA HAPPINESS, JOY, LOVE AND GOOD HEALTH!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS;
- DADDY, MOMMY & KOH KOH ZACH -

Another darnest thing to say...

Inside a restaurant....

Zach: Mommy, come with me. I want to show you something...

Mommy: What is it, Zach?

Zach: You come. Follow me.

Mommy: Ok. Ok.

Standing right in front of a glass showcase, displaying an array of delicious cakes.....

Zach: I want this chocolate cake (while pointing at some on display)

Mommy: But we just had dinner. Next time la, ok?

Zach: No. I want this chocolate cake.

Mommy relented....

Chocolate cake arrived, served with a scoop of ice-cream

Daddy: Nice?

Zach: Yummy!

Daddy: Eat the ice-cream la.

Zach: Don't want.

Daddy: Why? It's nice.

Zach: Because I didnt order the ice-cream. I only ordered the cake.

Daddy: *speechless*

Mommy couldnt stop laughing......

The logic is there.
